OUR PROCESS
We all walk a unique path in life. No two individuals -- or circumstances -- are alike.  Because of this, our first, most important task is to learn more about you, understanding where you are now, what's important to you, and what you hope to accomplish.

Our goal is to create a genuine partnership with you, listening closely to understand your values, goals and priorities so we can design a plan that works for you, whether it's to help address an imbalance in your life, reach a cherished goal, or defend the life you love.

Here's how a first engagement typically works:

Step 1:  Inquire

In this first exchange, typically a 15-20 minute phone call, we try to learn a little more about you and what you're looking for.  We answer additional questions you might have and then, if we agree
there's a potential fit, we'll send you a  detailed questionnaire and schedule a time for us to meet so that we can further explore how we can best be of help.

Step 2:  Discover
In this first, no-obligation meeting, we'll sit with you and review your questionnaire to learn more about your current circumstances, your needs, and objectives.  We'll describe how we work in further detail, and answer any questions you may have about our approach.  At the end of this meeting, we'll discuss a possible scope of services and provide you with a cost estimate.  First-time engagements are typically a little more involved as we learn more about you and work to establish a solid foundation together.

Step 3:  Review
Following this first meeting, while we're happy to answer any follow-on questions or concerns, the ball is in your court to review and decide if you'd like to proceed.  If you decide you're interested in working with us, we'll send you our contract, a request for a 50% deposit, and a list of additional information (documents as well as possible worksheets) that we need to begin our work with you.  Once you've assembled everything all together, you'll deliver it back to us so that we may go to work.

Step 4:  Assess
We use the information you provide to first develop an assessment of your current financial picture.  Working within the scope of work we've defined together,  we'll identify challenges and opportunities you may face going forward, taking care, where appropriate, to identify gaps or other possible concerns.

Step 5:  Deliberate -- Or Dream

In this step we meet to review our analysis of your current financial picture with you -- along with a range of possible options.  We
may explore different scenarios with you or help you with some goal setting.  Either way, we work in partnership with you to help you explore and clarify your priorities and objectives.  Depending on the scope and
nature of our work together, this may involve one or more meetings.

Step 6:  Design
In this next step, we take the information and feedback you've provided and go to work.  We'll perform additional analysis and due diligence as needed.   If there are still gray areas and we need further input, we'll reach out to discuss these with you.  We distill and refine our analysis, pulling the different pieces together in a summary written report along with detailed recommendations.

Step 7:  Present
We meet again to present your plan to you.
We walk you through your plan, including detailed, step-by-step recommendations.  Our goal is to ensure you understand and feel confident in implementing your plan.  The plan and recommendations should serve as both a foundation and blueprint for you going forward.

Step 8:  Review &  Refine
Life ebbs and flows.  Change is a given.  Sometimes you need to stay the course.  Sometimes you need to course correct.  To remain relevant, financial planning should be viewed as more of a process than a static one-time event.  We encourage clients to track their progress and consider an annual check-in with us.  Check-ins are not typically as involved as the initial plan.  Either way, we're happy to work with you and help you with the various facets of your financial life, whether you have questions about budgeting, your investments, tax strategy, college planning, retirement planning, life or disability coverage, or estate planning.
Our goal is to communicate clearly and help educate you each step of the way so that you feel comfortable and confident in the partnership, the process, and the end product.
